West Cork Auctions
West Cork Auctions was born out of several lockdowns during the last 16 months.
My name is Eddie Pyburn I have been collecting antiques and collectibles for most of my life .
In March 2018 I opened a little shop called the Vintage Room upstairs over Barnett`s drapery shop in Schull,
West Cork.
In December 2019 I decided to take the leap and began purchasing a ground floor shop unit on the
main street of Schull . I received the keys in March 2020 and two days later the entire country was locked down.
Having spent the last year swimming against the tide, it has made every business look for different ways to survive and one day while talking to a friend I joked about setting up an auction business.
And that is exactly why you are now reading this.
I love the unusual, quirky , mad , industrial , conversation starting interior design collectibles and the story behind the object is particularly important to me.
I will only be bringing to Auction items that are owned by the Vintage Room, and I hope to be able to source enough unusual pieces as well some quality mainstream antiques and collectibles.
We are a small family run business operating out of one of the most beautiful fishing/tourist/sailing
seaside villages in the world (certainly worth a visit)

How do I register to buy?
West Cork Auctions will be holding online live Auctions in conjunction with easylive.com.
The simple way is to click on the link to easylive , find West Cork Auctions and register from there.
Will West Cork Auctions help to deliver my purchases?
We fully understand how stressful it can be to buy something at auction and then be left alone trying to figure out how to get it home…
We will value your business and look forward to helping you to find the best solution for collection and delivery. Post, Courier, door to door delivery are all
options .
Shipping costs and delivery options will be determined by location and size/fragility of items. Please see shipping section.
How much extra will I pay on the hammer price?
Buyers commission is charged at 20% plus vat when the buyer has paid the €3 registration fee and 23% plus vat when availing of free registration. Vat of 23% is only charged on the commission
price.
How do I pay?
On completion of the Auction , you will receive a link to view and pay your invoice by bank transfer or card payment.
It is also possible to phone West Cork Auctions directly and pay by Card over the phone. Payment in full is required no later than 48hours after close of auction.
Can I view the goods in person before the Auction?
Unfortunately we will not be offering live viewing, but Condition reports ( We are not qualified accessors) and personal videos of items will be available on request…
Do West Cork Auctions sell goods from vendors on their behalf?
West Cork Auctions was set and designed to sell items that are owned exclusively by ourselves and The Vintage Room. At this moment we are not able to accept goods from a third party.
Our Shipping Policy
Important Details
We appreciate your business and know how stressful it can be to organise delivery. We will work with every buyer to help get the items delivered safely worldwide if possible. We will pack any items that can be boxed and shipped by post or courier for a reasonable fee.
While we will always try our best, on some occasions it might not be possible to organise delivery
from our end, at which point the responsibility for collection becomes the purchasers. While we are not professional packers, we will do our best to wrap, box and protect your items however West Cork Auctions will not accept any liability for goods damaged in transit and it is the responsibility of the purchaser to be satisfied that the items are adequately insured…
All delivery costs, packing, etc are at the purchaser’s expense. Please contact us to talk about delivery options such as postal, courier, door to door. etc. Purchasers can organise their own collection in person or courier by contacting us and we promise not to make them wait for hours on end when they arrive….
Costs will vary depending on the delivery location or size/fragility of items.
Some items such as glass etc. is non insurable.
Please note that if a claim does need to be made, it is up to the buyer to pursue this with the relevant delivery agency and not through West Cork Auctions.
